Overview about what Arbin product to choose – Regenerative features

Energy efficiency is a crucial concern for every factory and department. Arbin’s regenerative products are designed to meet your energy-saving needs with exceptional performance and reliability.

I. Understanding the Regenerative Feature

The regenerative feature allows energy released during battery discharge to be returned to the power grid, instead of being wasted as heat. In contrast, a non-regenerative system dissipates the discharge energy through resistors and heat sinks, releasing it entirely into the environment.

This energy recovery provides two major benefits:

  1. Reduced heat generation:
Because less energy is released as heat, the air-conditioning system requires less power to maintain the facility’s temperature, leading to indirect energy savings.

  2. Energy reuse:
The energy returned to the grid can be reused by other equipment within the facility, further reducing overall power consumption and improving operational efficiency.

By integrating the regenerative feature, Arbin systems help create a more energy-efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly testing environment.

II. Product selection

  1. Cell testing: LBTS-Cell vs RBT4-Cell

overview about what arbin product to choose regenerative features

As shown in the graph, the LBTS series (including the LBT series) does not feature regenerative capability. In contrast, the RBT4-Cell series offers moderate energy-saving efficiency through its regenerative design.

Both LBTS-Cell and RBT4-Cell systems deliver excellent performance for cell-level testing. However, there are several functional differences to consider:

  • The RBT4-Cell does not include SDCM (Self-Discharge Current Measurement) or DCIM (AC Impedance Measurement using the DC method) features.

  • For users who require integration with Gamry systems, the LBTS series supports this compatibility, while the RBT4 series does not.

In summary, the LBTS-Cell series provides broader feature compatibility and measurement options, whereas the RBT4-Cell series offers improved energy efficiency through regeneration, making each suitable for different testing priorities.

  1. LBTS-Module vs RBT4-Module

Similar to the LBTS-Cell, the LBTS-Module does not include regenerative capabilities. On the other hand, the RBT4-Module incorporates a regenerative system but cannot be integrated with Gamry and does not include SDCM (Self-Discharge Current Measurement) or DCIM (AC Impedance Measurement using the DC method) features.

The RBT4-Module’s regenerative efficiency is summarized below:
